Plastic Worms For Catching Bass
Bass fishing with worms, and then storing the worms properly will help you catch more fish. These baits may be cheap, but you have to take care of them if you want them to take care of you.
If you use worms such as Berkley’s powerbait or Gulp! products, you know that storing them can be a real mess. Here are a few tips to take care of the worms better, so that they can take care of you when you need them to. The first, is going against what Berkley says. They say don’t reuse the bait, but I disagree. These baits work too good to just chuck it because its got a torn head. Cut the head off, and use it as a 7.2″ worm instead of a 7.5″!
Keeping the baits inside the packs or tubs that they came in is your best bet, but we all know that this can’t be helped sometimes. I know personally, that when I leave a pack of Gulp! worms in my car, that the stinch is horrendous, and it will push everyone away (my girlfriend wont come near me!). The tubs that Berkley ships this stuff in is also prone to leak once you have opened it. They tried going with a wider base to the tub, but they still get knocked over.
This is where small tupperwear containers come into play. These little things are waterproof and spillproof. They keep the smell from these baits locked inside, and the juices stay contained. I have a tub for each type of worm, usually keepinng colors together. I have found that as long as the baits are in Berkleys love juice, that they won’t bleed their colors. If you put them in any other substance, they start to biodegrade, and you will come back one and not have any worms!
